What Operation Homefront is All About
Dear Dr. Wolff and Dr. Hara,
We are writing to propose a book about heroes. A collection from all ages will be displayed to beautifully collage multiple interpretations of a hero. The multi genre book is intended for all ages and proceeds will go toward the charity organization, Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront’s mission is to provide emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. Operation Homefront helped 167,348 families in the year 2010. A published book for this organization would mean that people all over the world would be able to share whom their hero is. They could do this by submitting poems, paintings, drawings, photos, and stories to tell us about their hero.Since the topic is so popular and well known, many of the men and women that have served our country, as well as their families, would want to purchase this book. The money raised by the book would be given to the charity to continue to provide help and meet the needs of these men and women as well as their families.
We have chosen a standard landscape book.. We also agreed that it should be a hard cover book because not only will it last longer, but it also makes a nice gift to give to a family member or a friend. We are expecting to have somewhere between 41-80 pages but that will be determined based on the feedback we receive. We feel that the price of the book is high but we are hoping that because it is for a good cause, and because our theme is directly related to this charity, people will be interested in the book as well as helping the cause.
As a group, we are students attending Rowan University who are attempting to make a difference in the world. We are completing this assignment because it was assigned for our Writing, Research, and Technology class but we chose this charity organization to help because we feel that it will help many families.
We hope that you will seriously consider our ideas and help us to raise money and awareness for this great cause.
